STORY OF THE MONTH

 
Convenience Store – Middleton, NS – August 10, 2026
Cigarettes protected with a 3Si Tobacco Tracker™ disappeared from a convenience store when a disguised suspect broke in and made off with about $1,500 worth of merchandise. As the suspect left the scene, the device began reporting movement. That verified location intelligence then moved through the DirectToDispatch™ pathway to local police dispatchers. Dispatchers tracked the signal to an apartment building, where officers executed a search warrant, arrested three individuals, and recovered the stolen cigarettes in full. Investigators also located additional stolen property inside the apartment, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Bank – Columbus, OH – August 4, 2026

1 ARREST AND FULL RECOVERY $80

A robbery note demanding cash at a bank sent a suspect fleeing with roughly $80 protected with a 3Si Cash Tracker™. As the suspect abandoned a vehicle and blended into pedestrian traffic, DirectToDispatch™ delivered the device’s location to local police dispatchers. Officers located and arrested the suspect, who a detective noted had three prior bank robbery convictions for similar offenses.
 

Luxury Goods Store – Covington, WA – August 21, 2026

2 ARRESTS AND FULL RECOVERY $1,200

A vehicle chase took place after a luxury retail theft occurred. Thankfully, the stolen merchandise was protected by a 3Si ORC Tracker™. The device’s real-time location was relayed to local police dispatchers via the DirectToDispatch™ pathway. Officers arrested two suspects and recovered $1,200 in merchandise in full. Investigator linked one of the suspects to at least nine prior thefts, and officers also recovered a stolen vehicle and two firearms.
 

Credit Union – Mesquite, TX – August 21, 2026

1 ARREST AND FULL RECOVERY $820

An armed suspect demanded $1,000 at a Mesquite credit union, then proceeded to flee with cash protected with a 3Si Cash Tracker™. DirectToDispatch™ routed the verified location data to local police dispatchers, who coordinated with officers in the field. Following a short pursuit, officers arrested the suspect and recovered the cash and tracker. Officers also recovered two knives from the vehicle, and no injuries occurred.
 

Clothing Store – San Francisco, CA – August 24, 2026

2 ARRESTS AND FULL RECOVERY $1,680

A 3Si ORC Tracker™ protecting merchandise at a clothing store began reporting movement during an organized retail theft. The security team verified the event and pushed that data through the DirectToDispatch™ pathway to local police dispatchers, who used it to zero in on an area known for fencing activity. Officers located and arrested two suspects and recovered $1,680 in merchandise.
 

Big Box Retailer – Mukwonago, WI – August 27, 2026

1 ARREST AND FULL RECOVERY $30,000

An internal theft at a big-box retailer set a 3Si Phone Tracker™ in motion. 3Si flagged the device’s movement and shared its location with local police dispatchers through the DirectToDispatch™ pathway as the signal traveled away from the store. Officers traced the device, apprehended one suspect, and recovered the full $30,000.
 

Luxury Goods Store – Morgan Hill, CA – August 28, 2026

2 ARRESTS AND FULL RECOVERY $2,000
Two suspects made off with merchandise protected by a 3Si ORC Tracker™ , unaware that the device continuously reported their location. Local police dispatchers received that tracking intelligence through the DirectToDispatch™ pathway and used it to locate the pair. Officers arrested both suspects and recovered the merchandise in full, an estimated $2,000.

 

Pharmacy – Nepean, ON – August 31, 2026

2 ARRESTS AND FULL RECOVERY $1,000

A break and enter at a pharmacy sent stolen merchandise protected with a 3Si ORC Tracker™ off-site. DirectToDispatch™ delivered the tracking information to local police dispatchers, who traced it to the suspects’ vehicle and recovered the stolen goods inside. Following a vehicle pursuit and foot chase, officers arrested two suspects and recovered the stolen merchandise.
