Dye Pack Helps Solve Case
November 2012 - Edmonton, AB Canada
An armed robber held a customer at gunpoint as he demanded money from tellers and started a countdown. Even after he received cash, he kept counting down. Thankfully the situation ended without any injuries when the robber fled the branch along with the cash he demanded. The suspect dropped the cash when the dye pack activated after he left the branch. A patrol member identified the suspect as he fled and the police surrounded his residence within hours leading to his arrest. Edmonton police advise that the dye pack deployment was of great evidentiary value as when they executed a search warrant the robber’s jacket damaged by the dye pack was recovered.
